Brent at Subic

BRENT International School Subic is an internationally accredited school in Central Luzon is located inside the Subic Bay Freeport Zone.  It is accredited by the US-based Western Association of Schools and Colleges.

Brent Subic, which is primarily a college preparatory institution, aims to prepare students for admission to universities or colleges of their choice anywhere in the world. It offers a well-rounded academic program that is not only rigorous in its approach, but also one that is age-appropriately beneficial to students of every grade level.

The school offers a world-class education with full boarding facilities in one of Asia’s most spectacular natural environments.

It is located at Binictican Drive, the US Navy-built replica of an American suburban neighborhood inside the secured perimeter of the Subic Bay Freeport Zone. The spacious campus is surrounded by a 10,000-hectare virgin rainforest and 74 kilometers of shoreline along the pristine Subic Bay.

The school is part of the respected Brent International School System, which was established in the Philippines by American missionaries in 1909.

Its international accreditation assures that students are taught on American educational standards. The faculty has a strong representation of American English speakers.

Part of the school’s program includes advanced placement (AP) classes for high school level students that allow them to test out some of their initial classes at an international university.

At Brent Subic, the results of this high level of education is evident.

Comfortable American-style homes with central air-conditioning are available within walking distance of the Brent Subic campus for week-day and full-time boarding. The school also works with parents to help organize car-pooling and shared transportation arrangements for students traveling from nearby areas to Subic.

Brent Subic’s new school year starts this August, and although the school’s tuition and fees are among the lowest of any US-accredited international school, additional discounts are offered for early enrollment.

For more information, interested parties may contact William Corey or Maricar Peralta, with mailing address 6601 Binictican Drive, Subic Bay Freeport Zone; telephone number (047) 252-6872; email address at info@brentsubic.edu.ph; and website at www.brentsubic.edu.ph.

  • The bandit group, Abu Sayyaf, struck again, beheading two of their newly-taken hostages of Jehovah's Witnesses preachers. So, was Abu Sayyaf really decimated by the 6-month long, US-backed anti-terrorist "Balikatan" maneuvers? What about the supposed death of Abu Sabaya?

  • After topping a recent survey on presidential aspirants for 2004, Raul Roco was enmeshed in allegations of graft and corruption as secretary of the Department of Education, as President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo was merely a poor third to survey second placer, ousted former President Joseph Estrada.

Shortly after Mrs. Arroyo ordered for an investigation on the allegations, Roco immediately resigned as DepEd secretary, making him the third cabinet member to abandon the GMA administration (the first was former DOTC secretary Pantaleon Alvarez and the second, Vice President Tito Guingona, as secretary of foreign affairs).
